Doña Mago

Bienvenido, loyal reader. Please come along as Bruce and Mary get their protein fix after a workout at their gym, provecho!

Mary is at the entrance to our favorite comida corrida in Pitillal, the city within the city of Puerto Vallarta. Doña Mago is located at the corner of Calles Independencia y Genaro Padilla in Centro.

This is a popular place, sometimes we have to wait a few minutes for a table.

Following is a slide show of some of the meals we have had here:

This is Pollo ala Plancha, grilled chicken breast. As you can see all meals come with frijoles, rice, two choices of agua natural, fruit flavored drink of the day, and…Sopa, soup, in this case it is Sopa de Fideos, Noodle soup.

Mary is having a Chile Relleno, this day while…

I’m having Pollo con Verduras, chicken with veggies.

This is Res ala Mexicana, chopped beef with lots of peppers.

This meal is Pollo Empanizado, breaded chicken breast.

A muy picoso salsa, very spicy sauce, is always available.

Because it is lent and a Friday, we are treated to a delightful dessert, Capirotada, a bread pudding of sorts.

As you see the Comida Corrida costs 55P. They usually have 6-7 different choices, daily.

Rebeca works the back end.

Monica, la dueña, owner, and Emma work the kitchen. And they work it well, every meal we have had here has been very tasty. We highly recomemend Doña Mago.

Thanks for visiting, gentle reader. Hasta proximo Domingo!

My wife and I are frequent readers but seldom writers. We do want you to know your posts are appreciated, especially when they are about places that are a part of your living in Mexico. We have been to Pitilla and visited Tacos Neto a number of times. We’ll be down again in a few weeks and will try to get by Dona Mago. Thanks so much for putting this together every week.
