Kevin y Rosie, Visita Numero Ocho!

Bienvenido, loyal reader. Please come along as Bruce and Mary party with Kevin and Rosie, in Puerto Vallarta, disfrutala!

If you’re going to be partying, best start with a healthy breakfast on our patio.

We’re at the pool hall on Av Mexico, bar hopping our way to…

Restaurante El Panorama! Rosie is readying her pro-grade Canon for a…

Sunset shot.

For dessert we share these treats, thanks to Kevin and Rosie. We split these two most excellent choices: flan and fried ice cream. We’ve all had flan, but not quite like this deliciously creamy and rich version with a caramel drizzle that complements the custard beautifully. The fried ice cream is presented beautifully and so very tasty there were not enough bites to go around. Next time, double portions!

Bar hopping again. This is La Parota in Centro. This bar takes its name from the beautiful wood of the Parota tree which was fashioned into this massive table.

We’re at Margarita Grill in Old Town and this is Kevin’s Margarita Grill shrimp.

Mary and Rosie opt for the Chiles Relleno, the portions are huge.

This is my Molcajete Mixto. I can’t believe I ate the whole thing!

Guess what? We’re bar hopping again, this time at Los Girasoles on Rio Cuale.

We’re at La Caipirinha for dinner and believe it or not, this is a Parrillada para uno, A grilled meat meal for… one!

Now it’s time for…

The Vikings v Dallas and cigars! Sadly the Vikes lose a close one. We are watching via my Slingbox attached to a TV in my mom’s basement back in MN.

This day finds us walking the Malecon, on our way to…

Hotel Los Arcos. In small repayment for hosting our annual MDD party, for the past nine years, we have booked them a couple nights at Los Arcos. Like I told Kevin and Rosie, you can’t call it a Puerto Vallarta vacation without a couple days at the beach. The game we’re playing? Five Crowns, which turns out to be a really fun card game. Mary had to be dragged practically kicking and screaming to this new card game and guess who ends up winning all the games? Yup.

We’ve just debarked the Boca bus and are descending the stairs on our way to the pier.

We’re sipping on beers awaiting our water taxi.

We’re at our destination, Cascada de Yelapa. After a couple drinks and snacks we are…

Awaiting the water taxi, once again, at the main Yelapa pier.

By the time we get back to Old Town it is time to eat again. We are waiting for our pizzas at Los Muertos.

And here are our smiling beauties.

Another day has flown by and we find ourselves at CoExist our default restaurant for special occasions, this being the last dinner Kevin and Rosie will have in Vallarta on this trip. We have a great time talking about our plans for retirement, maybe a joint vacation exploring the Copper Canyon? Sounds fun!

The next morning Mary walks up to Av Los Tules and hails a cab and off to the airport Kevin and Rosie go. Nos vemos, amigos!

In closing I am presenting a slide show of Rosie’s specialty, flowers, these are pix from our neighborhood:

Thanks for visiting, gentle reader. Hasta proximo Domingo!

Even though it’s Christmas and I’m supposed to yearn for sugar plums and the like, you now have my mouth watering for our favorite restaurant of all time: La Caipirinha. Thanks for the reminder!

We and the Slavering Hound will be at El Rio Malecon for a couple of weeks from 4 February. We will be looking for you. Sorry about your Viks, but then you need a team. OOOPPPs. I can say that because here in the rainforest we don’t have anything that resembles a team.
Hope to see you guys in a month.
