Santo Tacote

Bienvenido loyal reader! Please join Bruce and Mary as they have another happy experience in the Puerto Vallarta hospitality scene. Provecho! After sipping beers and people watching in Parque Hidalgo with our good friends Phil and Di, we’ve marched up Av Mexico a block and a half to one of our favorite restaurants in 5th de Diciembre, Santo Tacote. And because it is happy hour, beers are only 20P! BTW, check out the link, Ricardo is very active on FB and you can see pix of all of the usual suspects! These are today’s specials.Di, Mary and I opt for beers but take a look at this monster smoothie that Phil ordered. Our food has come. Phil’s choice is the Northern Burger. That is a chunk of bacon sticking out on the left. BTW: We’ve come here many times, the food is always great the prices quite low (otherwise why would Bruce and Mary be there, eh?).Di decides to take advantage of today’s fish taco special.

This is Mary’s Veggie Panini with mashed potatoes, and it is delicious. This is so huge that the leftovers star in two more lunches for Mary.My Philly Burro comes. It is generously laden with beef. Here’s their menu. You may have to zoom in.Me and the gang. That’s Giovanni, owner Ricardo and Said. BTW the service here is also great. We highly recommend Santo Tacote.

Thanks for visiting, gentle reader. Hasta proximo Domingo!

    I LOVE THAT PLACE!!!!!

Ricardo is such a kick (had nice conversations with him in Jsnuary and February) and the food is every bit as delectable as your pictures show AND the prices are so reasonable. Plus I had great conversations with other diners.

I’ve recommended it to others also (with 5 de dic being my favorite area) but —- you know what happens —- you put it out onto the ‘net and, pretty soon, the place is mobbed and not the same.

I love your taste in restaurants (in addition to your great pictures). Always have. Makes me want to get on a plane!
