Two Sharks Gym

Bienvenido, loyal reader. Bruce and Mary would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to their new gym, disfrútala!

Phil and I are at the entrance to Two Sharks Gym, located on Calle Hidalgo, entre Calles Cinco de Mayo y Cinco de Septiembre, in Pitillal, the city within the city of… Puerto Vallarta. We’re going to kill two birds with one stone today: Get Phil started on a lifting routine along with getting in workouts for ourselves.

Mary with los dos tiburones.

Mary is signing in with Frannie. The drop in fee is only 30P, the monthly rate is 250P. BTW: Frannie practices what she preaches…

Yup, that’s Frannie.

Here’s the view looking up Calle Hidalgo from this second level gym.

Ok, I’ve popped on my wide angle lens to give more of a sense of this cavernous room which is Two Sharks Gym.

Oh yeah, crossfit training is big here. Mary and I have decided that we are too old for that.

It seems that every time we come here we are entertained by gymnasts or, in this case, a juggler. He’s pretty committed. He was here when we arrived and still here when we left, an hour later.

Phil is doing shrugs. We start with an empty bar until the movement is understood, then we add weight.

We’ve gotten to the standing shoulder press part of the workout.

Phil is a natural, he’s picking up the movements so easily. Here he is doing RDLs (Romanian Dead Lift) which is a great exercise for the hamstrings and a staple of every football player’s workout.

I’m showing Phil the execution of a seated row, a middle back exercise.

Part of the gym experience is learning how to spot which is Phil’s job right now.

And that is a wrap as Di joins we three (Mary is behind the camera) to walk the three blocks to our favorite comida corrida to get a proper dose of protein, Cheers!

Thanks for visiting, gentle reader. Hasta proximo Domingo!

    Hola Terry,

Our favorite comida corrida in Pitillal is Dona Mago, located in Centro on Calle Independencia between calles Abasalo y Genaro Padilla.

I’m jealous Bruce and Mary. Bacalar could sure use a gym like that! Way cool.

    Hola Alex,

Yes, we were quite pleased to learn of this gym, right in our new neighborhood. We are fortunate to have so many choices in Vallarta.
